The largest renovation lead sites are proud of their database. Ten thousand professionals. Any postal code. Any budget. The pitch is that with enough businesses on the platform, they can always find the lowest bid.
That's true. And it's exactly the problem.
The lowest bid usually isn't the lowest price. The retouches, the change orders, the "we didn't include that" conversations — those live outside the initial quote. By the time you notice, you're four months in with half a kitchen, and switching firms would cost more than finishing.
We picked the other direction on purpose. We keep the directory small. We vet every firm — properly, in person, with a real project brief. We back every match with a fixed-price guarantee. And we make our money from an annual membership, not from selling leads, so there's no incentive to push a mismatch.
The trade-off is honest: we're slower, more expensive, and cover fewer postcodes. If you want three quotes in twenty-four hours, we're not for you.
